the big apple

New York is the most populous city in the United States, and the center of the New York metropolitan area, which is one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world. A leading global city, New York exerts a powerful influence over global commerce, finance, media, culture, art, fashion, research, education, and entertainment. As host of the United Nations Headquarters, it is also an important center for international affairs. The city is often referred to as New York City or the City of New York to distinguish it from the state of New York, of which it is a part.
Located on a large natural harbor on the Atlantic coast of the Northeastern United States, the city consists of five boroughs: The Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island. The city's 2008 estimated population exceeds 8.3 million, and with a land area of 305 square miles (790 km2), New York City is the most densely populated major city in the United States. The New York metropolitan area's population is also the nation's largest, estimated at 19.1 million people over 6,720 square miles

New York City is also home to a world full of fashion. There are hundreds of Designer stores throught the city. It is also home to the Statue of Liberty. Lastly, New York city is also where the biggest terrorism strike occured leaving 2000+ dead.

The Eiffel Tower is a 19th century iron lattice tower located on the Champ de Mars in Paris that has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The Eiffel Tower, which is the tallest building in Paris, is the single most visited paid monument in the world; millions of people ascend it every year. Named after its designer, engineer Gustave Eiffel, the tower was built as the entrance arch for the 1889 World's Fair.
The tower stands 324 m (1,063 ft) tall, about the same height as an 81-story building. It was the tallest man-made structure in the world from its completion until 1930, when it was eclipsed by the Chrysler Building in New York City. Not including broadcast antennas, it is the second-tallest structure in France, behind the Millau Viaduct, completed in 2004.
The tower has three levels for visitors. Tickets can be purchased to ascend either on stair or lift to the first and second levels. The walk to the first level is over 300 steps, as is the walk from the first to the second level. The third and highest level is accessible only by lift. Both the first and second levels feature restaurants.
The tower has become the most prominent symbol of both Paris and France, often in the establishing shot of films set in the city.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa or simply the Tower of Pisa (La Torre di Pisa) is the campanile, or freestanding bell tower, of the cathedral of the Italian city of Pisa. It is situated behind the Cathedral and is the third oldest structure in Pisa's Cathedral Square (Piazza del Duomo) after the Cathedral and the Baptistry.
Although intended to stand vertically, the tower began leaning to the southeast soon after the onset of construction in 1173 due to a poorly laid foundation and loose substrate that has allowed the foundation to shift direction. The tower currently leans to the southwest.
The height of the tower is 55.86 m (183.27 ft) from the ground on the lowest side and 56.70 m (186.02 ft) on the highest side. The width of the walls at the base is 4.09 m (13.42 ft) and at the top 2.48 m (8.14 ft). Its weight is estimated at 14,500 (16,000 short tons). The tower has 296 or 294 steps; the seventh floor has two fewer steps on the north-facing staircase. Prior to restoration work performed between 1990 and 2001, the tower leaned at an angle of 5.5 degrees, but the tower now leans at about 3.99 degrees. This means that the top of the tower is 3.9 metres (12 ft 10 in) from where it would stand if the tower were perfectly vertical.

Always watching

Christ the Redeemer is a statue of Jesus Christ in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; considered the largest Art Deco statue in the world. It is one of the tallest of its kind in the world.

Stonehenge is a prehistoric monument located in the English county of Wiltshire, about 3.2 kilometres (2.0 mi) west of Amesbury and 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) north of Salisbury. One of the most famous sites in the world, Stonehenge is composed of earthworks surrounding a circular setting of large standing stones. It is at the centre of the most dense complex of Neolithic and Bronze Age monuments in England, including several hundred burial mounds.
Archaeologists had believed that the iconic stone monument was erected around 2500 BC, and their thoughts on how it got together are each different. It is truly a masterpiece and a marvel that remains a mystery.

Some think that 'aliens' formed it together, while others believe that it was their from the beginning. The truth will remain unknown as long as it stands.

feeling lucky?

A long Walk

The Great Wall of China is a series of stone and earthen fortifications in northern China, built originally to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire against intrusions by various nomadic groupsThe Great Wall stretches from Shanhaiguan in the east to Lop Nur in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia. The most comprehensive archaeological survey, using advanced technologies, has recently concluded that the entire Great Wall, with all of its branches, stretches for 8,851.8 km (5,500.3 mi). This is made up of 6,259.6 km (3,889.5 mi) of sections of actual wall, 359.7 km (223.5 mi) of trenches and 2,232.5 km (1,387.2 mi) of natural defensive barriers such as hills and rivers.
People can tour The Great Wall and climb up various parts of it for little cost. It is one of China's biggest attractions, and if you are ever in the area, it is a must see.

Lazer show in the sky

Auroras, also known as northern and southern (polar) lights or aurorae (singular: aurora), are natural light displays in the sky, usually observed at night, particularly in the polar regions. They typically occur in the ionosphere. They are also referred to as polar auroras. Its southern counterpart, the aurora australis or the southern polar lights, has similar properties, but is only visible from high southern latitudes in Antarctica, South America, or Australasia. Australis is the Latin word for "of the South." Auroras are common near the Poles. They are occasionally seen in temperate latitudes, when a magnetic storm temporarily expands the auroral oval. Large magnetic storms are most common during the peak of the eleven-year sunspot cycle or during the three years after that peak.
The lights color varies, and the most common colors are red, blue, yellow, and/or green. The way that the lights look are different each time. They are fairly common, however you need to be close to either the northern or southern poles. This is one of natures best shows that everyone should see before they die.

bon voyage!

It is estimated that 10 million people each year take a break from what ever they are doing and enjoy the benefits of a cruise. Their are three major cruise companies, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, and Star/NCL. These three make up for 2/3's of all cruises. However another popular company is none other than the Disney Cruise.
There are roughly two thousand ports that these cruise liners stop and either let people on or let them off at. They can last anywhere from 3-10+ days, and with each day being able to walk off to a new location.
In most cruises, everything is included in the main price, however others, you have to pay additional for food and beverages. Although, the activities are all mainly included in your original price. Some cruises have Gambling, some have little parks for children, while others have movie theaters and live performances.
Taking a cruise is a good way of being able to relax and enjoy the fresh open ocean air. Who knows, you might even get to see some animals along the boat.

lets take a dive

Able to be seen from outer space, the Great Barrier Reef is the worlds largest reef system. It is composed of over 2,900 individual reefs and 900 islands stretching for over 2,600 kilometers (1,600 mi) over an area of approximately 344,400 square kilometers (133,000 sq mi), making it the worlds biggest single structure of living organisms. The Great Barrier Reef is located in the Coral Sea off the coast of Queensland in Northeast Australia.
The Great Barrier Reef supports a diversity of life, including many Vulnerable species and Endangered species some of which may be endemic to the reef system. Many animals rely on this reef to make their home and to breed, and without it, some species will dissipate.
The things you will see here are a once in a life time thing, for they might not always be there. It is indeed, a place where you should go before you die.

up and away

Ever wonder what it would be like to be dangling in a basket held by a balloon? Well apparently it doesn't feel like anything you would have guessed. Since the the wind determines where you go, the basket does not wobble or shake while you are anywhere from 100-3000 feet above the earth.
Hot air balloons were discovered in France in 1783, and were first tested by animals such as ducks, sheep, and roosters. After they found out that was safe, they sent up 2 men and they lasted in the air for 23 minutes and traveled 5.5 miles over Paris.
Now hot air ballooning is something people do for fun, ways for people to show off their creativity, or something they do competitively. It has become very popular over the years and more and more people are adventuring into the skies.
Hot air balloons usually last around 3 hours, which includes inflating the balloon (30 min), the ride its self (1 hour), and then getting picked up and back the the launch site ( approx. 30-60 min). The cost of the ride is around 200-300 per rider and varies place to place.

They are some of the earliest structures ever built, and for thousands of years they were the tallest structures in the world. They are the great pyrimids of Giza in Egypt. With each pyrimid containing the body of past pharos, treasures, and servants.
There are many many rooms in each pyrimid. Some may contain treasures, others might have oils and herbs, while others may have nothing in them at all. They built many traps and empty rooms to try and keep everything safe from grave robbers.
All three of these pyrimids were built during the third and fourth dynasty, and sadly, none of these pyrimids were complete before their occupants reign was over. They took decades upon decades to complete and required the use of thousands of workers to resurrect such magnificent structures.
These pyrimids are one of the seven wonders of the world and are a big part of world history. Everyone should try and get a chance to see these one of a kind structures.

Image and video hosting by TinyPicIt is considered one of the 7 wonders of the world and continually gathers an audiance of more than four million people anually. The Grand Canyon became a national park in 1919. President Woodrow Wilson signs the Grand Canyon Park bill, February 26th after both the house and the senate passed the bill.
When you gaze down thousands of feet, you see what appears to be a blue ribbon. That blue ribbon just happens to be the Colorado River. Recently, in 2007, they added a sky walk. This skywalk hangs over a side of the Grand Canyon. It is a little over four thousand feet from the bottom with the bottom being glass. However, the Grand Canyon was not always like this. It was once a flat piece of land that was eroded away by the river. Now, thousand of years later, it has become a place everyone should see before they die.

Here are a few pictures :)

Conquering the Jump

Jumping from a plane at a height of 8,000 ft at speeds up to 200 mph sounds like something only an idiot would do. The wind rocking your body, scenery looking nothing more than a blur, and planet earth getting bigger and bigger as gravity pushes you down to what could be the last thing you ever will do doesn't spark much interest to some people.
However, skydiving is now starting to show its true colors. The excitement and thrill of freefalling 8,000+ ft to the ground is putting even the bravest to the test. Skydiving though, is not quite as dangerous as people say or think. Over a ten year report, there were only thirty-five fatalities. This was taken in the United States and was out of hundreds of thousands of jumps. The odds of surviving are in your favor.
Skydiving is relatively cheap costing approx. 100-200$ and there is good chance that there is a place to skydive at near you. Usually the cost will cover the lessons and the equipment needed to have a safe and enjoyable jump. Skydiving is something everyone should consider doing because it is something you will be able to tell people you experienced the thrill and who knows, maybe you will make it a hobby.

Skydiving montage video. Enjoy! :)
